AutoHDR alternatives in 2026: AI real estate photo editors compared by what you need

The right AutoHDR alternative depends on what you want to change: for a lower price per photo with no $265 monthly plan, Imagen for Real Estate ($0.32 a photo), HomeHDR ($0.55 pay as you go) and Autoenhance.ai ($0.75 pay as you go, or $29 a month for 100 on its current offer) all merge brackets in minutes; for unlimited human revisions with booking and delivery in one platform, Fotello ($12–$18 a listing on its plans); for human editors on every photo, PhotoUp ($1.50 a credit, 24 hours); and if there is no photographer on the job at all, October guides an iPhone capture, has an AI image model draw the finished photos from it, and usually returns them with a walkthrough video within a few hours, for $49 a place. This page compares AutoHDR and six alternatives from their own pages as of October 22, 2026; it is written by October's founder, and for a media company already plugged into Spiro, Aryeo or HD PhotoHub, AutoHDR's integrations are hard to beat.

How we compared them

We read AutoHDR's current site (www.autohdr.com, which carries a banner that its interface 'will sunset soon'), its new site at new.autohdr.com with its pricing, API and models pages, and its knowledge base, plus each alternative's own pricing or product page, on October 22, 2026. Imagen's pages block plain downloads, so we read them in a browser; Autoenhance.ai's plan prices load inside its pricing page, and we read them the same way. We did not run the same shoot through every editor, so this is a comparison of what each one offers and charges, not of image quality.

Which AutoHDR: this page is about AutoHDR the AI photo editor for real estate photographers at autohdr.com. It is not Windows' Auto HDR for games, which Google's AI Mode answered about when we searched 'autohdr alternatives' on its own. Asked for AutoHDR real estate photo editing alternatives, AI Mode also named Stager AI, Realty Edit, Visual Advantage Studio, Photomatix Pro, Lightroom Classic and Luminar Neo, which this page does not cover.

When AutoHDR is still the better choice

AutoHDR describes itself as 'AI Photo Editing for real estate photographers' that will 'edit your photoshoot in minutes at half the cost of an editor'. After upload it can merge HDR brackets (its Classic and Lisa models, plus styles from named photographers, one built for the 'deepest window pull, from handheld to full flash'), replace skies, make a twilight in three skies, fill blank TV screens, light the fireplace, green the grass, declutter, remove realtor signs and the photographer's reflection, and drop near-duplicate frames. Afterwards you can re-edit any photo by typing a prompt, stage a room, repaint a wall to an exact hex colour or draw lot lines. It says the edits land in your delivery page in 15 minutes, and that it is trusted to edit 25% of US real estate listings (its current site says 10%).

  • You deliver through Spiro, Aryeo, HD PhotoHub, Tonomo or Dropbox. AutoHDR calls itself 'the only AI editor integrated in every delivery software'; edits sync to your delivery page without a download-and-upload step. None of the alternatives here lists all of those.
  • You want the extras automatic. TV screens, fire in the fireplace, grass, sky and declutter run at upload; on Standard and Enterprise the TV and fire edits are free.
  • You want to drive it from code or an AI assistant. Its API (beta, Standard plan and up) and an MCP server let you create shoots and run edits from your own software or from Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants, with anything that costs credits confirmed first.
  • You shoot hundreds of photos a month. Standard is $265 a month for 500 photos ($0.53 each) and the Enterprise tier goes lower ($0.48 at 2,000 on the new site, $0.45 at 5,000 on the current one), with unused credits rolling over. You pay on download; re-downloads are free and failed edits are refunded.

If one of those is you, the rest of this page is for the day you need something AutoHDR does not offer: pay as you go without a monthly plan, a person on every photo, a booking and delivery platform around the editor, or listing photos when nobody on the job is a photographer.

AutoHDR, Imagen, HomeHDR and Autoenhance.ai are the same shape: upload a shoot, an AI edits it in minutes, you pay per photo. Fotello wraps a similar editor in a business platform; PhotoUp puts people on the edit. October is the odd one out: it replaces the photographer and the editor together for someone who has neither, and its photos are not edits at all but new images an AI model draws from the guided capture.

Which alternative, by what you need

I want a lower price per photoImagen for Real Estate, HomeHDRImagen publishes $0.32 a photo with no plan; HomeHDR $0.44–$0.55 depending on plan. AutoHDR's lowest published rates are $0.53 on Standard and $0.45–$0.48 at Enterprise volume. More in Imagen AI alternatives.
I don't want a $265 monthly commitmentHomeHDR, Autoenhance.ai, ImagenAll three sell per photo with no subscription: HomeHDR $0.55 (20 photos minimum), Autoenhance.ai $0.75, Imagen $0.32, each billed for what you use. AutoHDR's free plan stops at 10 photos a month. More in Autoenhance.ai alternatives.

I want booking, delivery and the agent portal in one placeFotello (or AutoHDR plus Spiro or Aryeo)Fotello bundles booking forms, delivery, property websites, payments and an agent portal with the editing, priced per listing. AutoHDR instead plugs into the delivery software you already use.
I want to see the edit before I payAutoenhance.ai, HomeHDRAutoenhance.ai previews every enhancement free, watermarked, without an account. HomeHDR gives 15 free watermarked edits. AutoHDR charges on download, so you also see the edit first, within its free 10 a month.
Nobody on the job is a photographerOctoberEvery other option here edits photos somebody shot. October guides the capture on an iPhone 12 or newer, draws the finished photos from it with an AI image model, and usually returns them and a walkthrough video within a few hours. What 500 edited photos a month cost

AutoHDR's Standard plan is built around 500 photos a month, about 28 shoots of 18 photos. Here is that month on each editor at list price, single edits with no staging or twilight. October is on the last line for completeness, because it prices a different job.

Option500 photos a monthHow it is counted
AutoHDR$265 (Standard), about $225 a month billed yearlyPer downloaded photo; credits roll over
Imagen for Real Estate500 × $0.32 = $160 ($110 in the first month at $0.22)Per edited photo, billed at month end
HomeHDR500 × $0.55 = $275 pay as you go; at most $250 on Pro at its 50-photo rate of $0.50Per finished photo; a bracket set counts as one
Autoenhance.ai$29 + 400 × $0.29 = $145 on the current Essential offer; 500 × $0.75 = $375 pay as you goPer downloaded image
FotelloPriced per listing, not per photo: Essential is $1,200 a month for 75 listings of up to 50 photosPer listing
PhotoUp500 HDR edits × 1.25 = 625 credits: Growth $399 for 400 + 225 at $1.10 or more = at least $646.50Per credit, by photo type
October28 places × $49 = $1,372, with the capture included and no photographerPer place of up to 6 rooms

Read it plainly: if you are a photographer or run a media company, October is the wrong tool and the AI editors above cost a fraction of it per photo. October's $49 only makes sense when it replaces the photographer's visit as well as the edit: compare it with a shoot, not with an edit. For that comparison, see our real estate photography cost guide and October vs a real estate photographer; October's plans are on pricing. If you are pricing your own shoots, see how much to charge for real estate photography.

Three things to check before you switch

  • Whether anyone looks at the result. PhotoUp's editors are people; Fotello and Imagen add human revisions on request. AutoHDR, HomeHDR, Autoenhance.ai and October do not promise a person, so your own QC stays in the workflow.
  • What the price is really per. Per downloaded photo on a monthly plan (AutoHDR), per photo with no plan (Imagen, HomeHDR, Autoenhance.ai), per listing (Fotello), per credit by photo type (PhotoUp) or per place of up to six rooms (October). Check how a bracket set is counted: HomeHDR and AutoHDR charge one finished photo, PhotoUp 1.25 credits for HDR.
  • Disclosure. Sky replacement, twilight, grass greening, fire in the fireplace, TV screens, decluttering and staging, all of which AutoHDR offers, are alterations under California's AB 723 and most MLS rules, whoever makes them; HDR merging, window pulls, perspective, light and colour corrections generally are not (how to do those yourself in Lightroom, Photoshop or on an iPhone is in how to edit real estate photos). Imagen adds an AI disclosure watermark for this. The light-and-colour exemption does not cover October: every October photo is a new AI-generated image, so label it as AI-altered or digitally altered where your MLS, portal or state requires. AB 723 also asks for a link or QR code to the original; October's download includes the unaltered original of every photo, so you can link or provide it where your MLS or state requires. See AI photo editing and MLS rules.

Questions

What is the best alternative to AutoHDR?

For a lower price per photo without a monthly plan, Imagen for Real Estate ($0.32 a photo) or HomeHDR ($0.55 pay as you go). To preview every edit free first, Autoenhance.ai. For unlimited human revisions inside a booking and delivery platform, Fotello. For a person on every photo, PhotoUp. If nobody on the job is a photographer, October guides an iPhone capture and returns AI-generated photos drawn from it, keeping the room's layout and fixed features, plus a walkthrough video, usually within a few hours.

How much does AutoHDR cost?

AutoHDR has a free plan of 10 photos a month (extra photos $0.80), Standard at $265 a month for 500 photos ($0.53 each, extras at the same rate) and an Enterprise tier priced by volume: $960 a month for 2,000 photos on its new site and $2,250 for 5,000 on its current one. You pay when you download; re-downloads are free, unused credits roll over and yearly billing is cheaper. Prices as of October 22, 2026.

How fast is AutoHDR?

Its new site says edits land in your delivery page in 15 minutes; its API page estimates 5 to 30 minutes for a shoot with extras such as fireplace or TV screens. Imagen says a first batch is processed in under 10 minutes, Autoenhance.ai 5 to 10 minutes a shoot, HomeHDR under 5 minutes, and PhotoUp's human editors 24 hours.

Does AutoHDR use human editors?

Its pages describe AI editing ('Everything a human would do, fully automated') and no human editing step. Fotello and Imagen offer human revisions on top of AI edits, and PhotoUp's editing is done by people.

Is AutoHDR the same as Windows Auto HDR?

No. AutoHDR (autohdr.com) is an AI photo editor for real estate photographers. Windows Auto HDR is a Microsoft feature that adds HDR to games; search engines sometimes answer about one when you ask about the other.

Can October edit my AutoHDR shoots or brackets?

No. October only works from captures made in its own app on an iPhone 12 or newer, where the app walks you to each spot and takes the photos itself; an AI image model then draws the finished photos from that capture. It replaces the photographer and the editor together, not the editor alone.

Did you test all seven?

No. This page compares what each service publishes on its own pages, checked on October 22, 2026. We only describe October from first-hand knowledge, because we make it.
