BoxBrownie alternatives in 2026: 9 options compared by what you need
The right BoxBrownie alternative depends on what you have when you start: if you already have photos, a per-image editing service (PhotoUp, Styldod) or an AI editor (Autoenhance.ai, Imagen AI) replaces it directly; if you only need staging, Virtual Staging AI or Shhots stage a photo in seconds for under $1; and if you have no photographer at all, October guides an iPhone capture, has an AI image model draw the finished photos from it, and usually returns them with a walkthrough video within a few hours, for $49 a place. This page compares nine options from their public pages as of October 2026, with a worked cost for a six-room listing and a short look at the other tools AI search engines name; it is written by October's founder and ranks October where it fits.

How we compared them
We read BoxBrownie's homepage and pricing page and, for each alternative, its own pricing page, App Store listing or help pages, on October 21, 2026, and re-read Imagen's, Autoenhance.ai's, AutoHDR's and PhotoUp's pages on October 22, 2026. Imagen's pages refuse plain downloads and Autoenhance.ai's prices load inside its page, so we read both in a browser. Where another site did not let us in, we say so and use the most recent dated third-party capture we found. We did not run the same home through every service, so this is a comparison of what each one offers and charges, not of image quality.
A note on currency: BoxBrownie's pricing page shows prices by region; we quote its US prices, read on October 27, 2026 with the region set to United States (enhancement $1.60, day to dusk $4, virtual staging $24), which are 20% below the $2, $5 and $30 list prices captured in August 2026 by Shhots. Every other price is in US dollars as shown on the source page unless we say otherwise.
Who should not switch away from BoxBrownie
BoxBrownie does several things well, and a page of alternatives should say so. Its homepage describes '24/7 Professional Property Photo Editing by Human Editors', promises standard edits in 24 hours and virtual staging in 48, and says it is trusted by more than 250,000 property professionals in 138 countries. New accounts get three image enhancements and one day-to-dusk edit free, with no card.
- You already shoot brackets with a real camera. At $1.60 an image for a human blend of your exposures, with a 24-hour turnaround and no subscription, BoxBrownie's core service is cheap and predictable. None of the AI tools below promise a person will look at your image.
- You need the long menu. Its pricing page lists day to dusk ($5), item removal and virtual cleaning ($5–$10), colour change ($3), floor plan redraws ($30–$40), 360° enhancement and staging ($5 and $60), virtual tours (from $20), development site plans, copywriting (from $35) and renders (from $350). Few alternatives cover more than two or three of those.
- You want per-image instructions and a free fix. Human editors can follow a note on each image. The AI services apply one preset to the lot.
- Your brokerage already has an account. Switching has a cost of its own; if the 24–48 hour turnaround is not what is bothering you, you may not need to.
If one of those is you, the rest of this page is for the day you need something BoxBrownie does not do: a faster turnaround, staging at volume, video, or photos when nobody on the job is a photographer. Our October vs BoxBrownie page compares the two of us in more depth.

| Imagen AI | Two products: a desktop app that learns your look from your past edits and applies it in Lightroom Classic (HDR merge of 3–9 exposures, crop, straighten); and Imagen for Real Estate, a browser app with HDR merge, window pull, sky, AI staging, object removal and twilight | Desktop app: your Lightroom Classic catalog. Real estate app: photos or brackets uploaded in the browser | Desktop app: from $0.05 a photo with a $7/month minimum, add-ons $0.01 a photo, or Limitless $129/month billed annually; 1,000 free edits. | Virtual Staging AI | AI virtual staging of photos you upload; furniture removal included | Photos you upload | $16/month for 6 photos, $19 for 20, $39 for 60, $79 for 150 (about $0.53–$2.67 a photo); unlimited renders | '10 seconds turnaround' | Not mentioned | No | Staging many photos for the least money |
| Shhots | AI 'Real Estate Studio': photo correction, staging, object removal and a short narrated listing video, on one subscription | Listing photos you upload | Pro $49/month (6,000 credits) or Scale $99/month (12,000); 55 credits an image, about $0.45; no free plan | Under a minute a generation; edits 'in minutes' | No: 'Nobody reviews it' | 15-second narrated walkthrough with an on-camera presenter, built from 3–4 photos | Agents who want staging and a short social video from one plan |
| Phone capture apps (SnapSnapSnap, Ovvy) | Camera apps that shoot HDR on the phone and send the photos to editors | Photos taken in their own camera app | SnapSnapSnap free, then BoxBrownie's per-image prices; Ovvy $2 a photo or $29/month for 30, 20 free | SnapSnapSnap: 24 hours (48 for staging) via BoxBrownie; Ovvy: hours, '12 hours or less guaranteed' | Yes: BoxBrownie's editors; Ovvy says it manually reviews all photos | No | Shooting with a phone and getting human-edited photos back, without a photographer |
Every tool on this page, and many more, is in one table with who does the work, price and turnaround in real estate photo apps and services compared.
Styldod, Virtual Staging AI, Shhots and PhotoUp publish their prices in dollars with no currency named. Autoenhance.ai sells in USD, EUR and GBP. Imagen's pricing page, read on October 22, 2026, lists Limitless at US$129 a month billed annually; Limitless covers the desktop app only, and Imagen for Real Estate is priced separately.
Which alternative, by what you need
| Your situation | Look at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| I already have photos and want a person to edit them | PhotoUp, Styldod (or stay with BoxBrownie) | All three are per-image human editing with 24–48 hour turnaround. Styldod's staging is $16–$23 against BoxBrownie's $24; PhotoUp's credits start at $1.50 and it will assign you a dedicated editor. |
| I already have photos and want them back in minutes | Autoenhance.ai, Imagen AI, Shhots | Automated editing: Autoenhance says 5–10 minutes a shoot, Imagen for Real Estate a first batch in under 10 minutes, Shhots under a minute an image. Imagen's desktop app runs inside Lightroom Classic and copies your own look. |
| I don't have a photographer | October, or a phone capture app (SnapSnapSnap, Ovvy) | October guides the capture on an iPhone, draws the finished photos from it with an AI image model, and usually returns them and a walkthrough within a few hours. SnapSnapSnap and Ovvy let you shoot on the phone and send to human editors. |
| I need virtual staging | Virtual Staging AI, Shhots (AI); Styldod, BoxBrownie (human); October (per room) | AI staging is $0.45–$2.67 a photo in seconds. Human staging is $16–$24 an image in 24–48 hours. October stages at $29 per room for every photo of that room. See our virtual staging cost guide. |
| I need video | October, Shhots, Styldod | October's walkthrough is AI-generated motion (Kling) between each room's finished photos, in HD or 4K. Shhots makes a 15-second narrated clip from 3–4 photos. Styldod edits video you shoot, from $60, or makes a single property video from $30. BoxBrownie lists no video service. |
| I need floor plans, renders or listing copy | BoxBrownie, PhotoUp, Styldod | BoxBrownie covers all three; PhotoUp does floor plans (20 credits for a first floor, 2D); Styldod floor plans from $9 and 3D renders from $250. |
Other tools AI search engines mention
When we asked Google's AI Mode and Perplexity for the best BoxBrownie alternatives on October 22, 2026, they named tools beyond the nine above: PropertyPixel, HomeHDR, Pixlmob, Maggi Homes, Fastlist, AutoHDR and Enhancia (Google), and StagerGo and Enhancia (Perplexity). A second check the same day, asking Google's AI Mode "Best alternatives to BoxBrownie?", named Stuccco, PadStyler, Virtual Staging AI, REimagineHome, PhotoUp and Imagen/AutoHDR; Virtual Staging AI, PhotoUp and Imagen are in the table above and AutoHDR just below, so Stuccco, PadStyler and REimagineHome are added here. We read each one's own site the same day (Stuccco's through the Internet Archive, see below). As with the rest of this page, these are compared from public pages, not tested; prices are in dollars with no currency named unless we say otherwise.
- HomeHDR: an AI editing service for US real estate photographers that merges brackets (RAW or JPEG) with window pulls, sky replacement, virtual twilight and object removal. It charges per photo: $0.55 with no subscription (20 photos minimum), $25 a month for 50 photos, down to about $0.36 a photo on an annual Enterprise plan, with 15 free watermarked edits. Its site says most edits come back in under 5 minutes; best for photographers who shoot brackets and want the cheapest automated HDR.
- AutoHDR: an AI editor for real estate photographers and media companies (HDR, virtual twilight, sky, staging, object removal, text-prompt re-edits) that connects to delivery tools such as Aryeo, HDPhotoHub and Dropbox, and says it is trusted to edit 10% of US listings. Plans are monthly: Standard $265 for 500 photos ($0.53 each), Enterprise $2,250 for 5,000 ($0.45), and a free plan of 10 photos a month. Its new site says edits land in your delivery page in 15 minutes; best for media companies editing hundreds of shoots a month. Compared with Imagen, HomeHDR, Autoenhance.ai and others in AutoHDR alternatives.
- Pixlmob: a marketplace where real estate photographers hire vetted human editors, with project management, chat and reviews built in. Its featured editors start at $0.65 for a single exposure, $0.95 for blended brackets, $10 for virtual staging and $45 for a property video, and each editor sets their own price and turnaround. Best for photographers who want a person editing, with video and floor plans from the same place.
- PropertyPixel: an AI web app for agents, teams and photographers that brightens rooms, removes clutter, stages empty rooms and turns photos into a listing video. An edit or staging costs 100 credits, which is $1.00 in the smallest pack and about $0.74 in the largest, or plans from $39 a month for 50 edits; 5 free watermarked edits. Its site says most edits take about a minute.
- Fastlist: an AI listing workspace for US agents that does photo enhancement (sky, day to dusk, object removal, colour, sharpness, upscale), virtual staging, MLS listing copy and a short vertical video. It sells one-time 30-day passes from $49 for 1,715 credits; on that pass a staged room (70 credits) works out at about $2.00 and an enhancement (14–32 credits) at $0.40–$0.91, with 100 free credits. It promises minutes per listing; best for an agent who also wants the copy and a social clip.
- Enhancia: an AI tool for agents, property managers, hosts and photographers that does day to dusk, virtual staging, decluttering, perspective and sky edits, plus ad copy. It sells pay-per-photo and credit packs with no yearly subscription and 10 free credits, but its pricing page showed no prices when we loaded it, and edits export at web quality with a paid upgrade for print resolution. It says edits take seconds.
- Stuccco: a US virtual staging service where, its pricing page says, every photo is designed by design professionals, not bots. Adding furniture and decor is $35 an image pay as you go, or $28 and $24.50 with prepaid bundles of $399 and $799 that expire after 12 months; it also changes walls, floors, cabinets, ceilings, exterior colours and landscaping, does day to dusk ($19 to $35 an image) and enhances photos for $3. Delivery is within 24 hours, 7 days a week, with unlimited revisions, a free listing page and an optional 'Virtually Staged' watermark. Its site showed us only a bot check on October 22, 2026, so these figures are from the Internet Archive's copy of its pricing page from July 10, 2026; Bella Virtual Staging's October 2026 rate table lists the same $35 and $24.50–$28. Best for human staging seven days a week, at a higher price: $11 more than BoxBrownie's $24 pay as you go, and $0.50 to $4 more with a bundle.
- PadStyler: virtual staging two ways. Bespoke staging by its designers is $34 for one photo down to $23 each for 8 or more, pay as you go, in under 24 hours (12-hour rush on weekdays), with unlimited revisions, a money-back guarantee and a price-match promise; it also does 3D renderings from $99 and virtual remodeling from $49. PadStyler AI stages, remodels and redesigns backyards in seconds on a subscription: 6 photos a month for $16, 20 for $19 or 60 for $39 billed yearly ($25, $35 and $79 month to month), and its AI page says every render is reviewed for consistency and realism before delivery. Best if you want designer staging at about BoxBrownie's price ($23 at 8 or more against $24) with unlimited revisions, and an AI option on the side.
- REimagineHome: the self-serve AI product of Styldod (above), for agents, homeowners and designers: virtual staging, emptying or redesigning furnished rooms, object removal, sky, day to dusk, lawn, enhancement and straightening, plus a listing batch flow that takes up to 50 photos, sorts them by room and flags compliance issues in 2 to 5 minutes, its homepage says. It can also furnish a room with real products you can buy. Its pricing page showed Essential $19 a month for 30 credits, Pro $36 for 200, Advanced $59 for 400 and Agency $119 for 900; one design is 1 credit, 2 with real products, and the first 5 designs are free with no card. Best for agents who want to stage and fix a whole listing themselves, in minutes, for well under $1 a design.
- StagerGo: an AI tool built around staging and short video: virtual staging in several styles, enhancement, day to dusk and item removal, plus animated clips and beat-matched reels from your photos. Its homepage lists a single staged room at $0.50 and a full three-bedroom home at $1.90, with up to 5 variations in 30 seconds; its pricing page did not load for us. Best for staging a whole listing for social video at the lowest cost.

| PadStyler | Human 'Bespoke' staging, or an AI staging subscription | Bespoke $23–$34 an image; AI $16–$39/month billed yearly for 6–60 photos | Bespoke under 24 hours; AI seconds | Yes for Bespoke; AI renders 'reviewed' before delivery, it says |
| REimagineHome | Styldod's self-serve AI staging and editing | Credits: $19–$119/month for 30–900; 1–2 credits a design; 5 free | Batch of up to 50 photos in 2–5 minutes, it says | No human step described |
| StagerGo | AI staging, enhancement, clips and reels | Credits: $0.50 a staged room, $1.90 a 3-bedroom home | 30 seconds, it says | No human step described |
Maggi Homes, also named by Google, showed us nothing but its title ('AI Real Estate Photo & Video Editing') when we loaded its site, so we have left it out rather than describe it from someone else's listing.
What a 6-room listing costs: per image vs per place
Take a six-room home and 18 photos, three per room, which is what October captures. Here is that job priced along BoxBrownie's per-image path and October's per-place path, using the prices above. For the photographer we use PhotoUp's 2026 national average of $230 for a standard shoot of 10–25 MLS-ready photos.
| Job | BoxBrownie path (per image) | October path (per place) |
|---|---|---|
| Get the 18 photos taken | Photographer about $230, or your own camera and time | Included: the app guides you to each spot on an iPhone 12 or newer |
| 18 edited photos | 18 × $1.60 = $28.80 | $49 for the place (each photo AI-drawn from your capture) |
| Add a walkthrough video | Not offered | $99 for photos + HD walkthrough (or $199 in 4K) |
| Stage 2 rooms, 3 photos each | 6 × $24 = $144 | 2 × $29 = $58 |
| Total, photos and staging, no photographer | $172.80 (your own photos) | $107 |
| Total, photos and staging, with a photographer | About $403 | $107 ($157 with the walkthrough) |
| Turnaround after the shoot | 24 hours for the edits, 48 hours for the staged images | Usually within a few hours, photos room by room |
Read it both ways. If you already pay a photographer and only need the editing, BoxBrownie's $28.80 is less than October's $49, and you keep the photographer's camera. If the photos still have to be taken, October's $49 covers the capture too, and the staging gap ($144 against $58) comes from BoxBrownie charging per image and October per room. Your first place with October is free, including the walkthrough (pricing). More on photographer rates in our real estate photography cost guide.
Three things to check before you switch
- Whether anyone looks at the result. BoxBrownie, PhotoUp, Styldod and Ovvy say a person does. Imagen for Real Estate has a person fix photos you flag, 5 revisions per listing. Autoenhance.ai, Imagen's desktop app, Virtual Staging AI, Shhots and October do not promise one; Shhots says outright that nobody reviews it, which is why it is cheap. If a wrong edit on a listing costs you more than $2, that matters.
- What the price is really per. Per image (BoxBrownie, Styldod), per credit (PhotoUp), per photo on a monthly allowance (Virtual Staging AI, Ovvy), per credit on a monthly pool (Shhots, Autoenhance), per photo with a monthly minimum or per edited photo billed monthly (Imagen) or per place of up to six rooms (October). Count your photos per listing and listings per month before comparing.
- Disclosure. Staging, item removal, sky and twilight edits are alterations under California's AB 723 and most MLS rules, whoever makes them; light and colour corrections generally are not. That exemption does not cover October: every October photo is a new AI-generated image, so label it as AI-altered or digitally altered where your MLS, portal or state requires. AB 723 also asks for a link or QR code to the original; October's download includes the unaltered original of every photo, so you can link or provide it where your MLS or state requires. See AI photo editing and MLS rules.

Questions
What is the best alternative to BoxBrownie?
There is no single one. For human editing of photos you already have, Styldod and PhotoUp are the closest, with Styldod's staging at $16–$23 an image against BoxBrownie's $24. For AI editing in minutes, Autoenhance.ai, Imagen AI and Shhots. For staging alone, Virtual Staging AI from $16 a month. If nobody on the job is a photographer, October guides an iPhone capture and returns AI-generated photos drawn from it, keeping the room's layout and fixed features, plus a walkthrough video, usually within a few hours.
Is there a cheaper alternative to BoxBrownie for virtual staging?
Yes. AI staging is far cheaper per image: Virtual Staging AI works out at about $0.53–$2.67 a photo on its plans and Shhots about $0.45 a photo on its $49/month plan, both in seconds. BoxBrownie's US price was $24 an image on October 27, 2026. Among human designers, Styldod is cheaper at $16–$23 an image; PadStyler ($23–$34) and Stuccco ($24.50–$35) cost about the same or more. October charges $29 per room, covering every photo of that room, so it costs less than BoxBrownie once you stage two or more photos of a room.
Which BoxBrownie alternatives offer video?
Of the nine here: October (an AI-generated walkthrough, made by Kling between the room's finished photos, HD or 4K), Shhots (a 15-second narrated clip with an on-camera presenter, from 3–4 photos) and Styldod (video editing from $60, single property video from $30). BoxBrownie, PhotoUp, Autoenhance.ai, Imagen AI, Virtual Staging AI, SnapSnapSnap and Ovvy list no video service as of October 2026.
Does BoxBrownie use AI or human editors?
BoxBrownie's homepage says its editing is done by human editors, with standard edits in 24 hours and virtual staging in 48. Among the alternatives, PhotoUp, Styldod and Ovvy also say people do the work; Autoenhance.ai, Imagen AI, Virtual Staging AI, Shhots and October are automated, though Imagen for Real Estate adds 5 human revisions per listing.
Do I need a photographer with these alternatives?
With BoxBrownie, PhotoUp, Styldod, Autoenhance.ai, Imagen AI, Virtual Staging AI and Shhots you supply the photos, taken by you or a photographer. SnapSnapSnap and Ovvy replace the camera with a phone app and send the photos to editors. October replaces the photographer: its app walks you to each spot in every room on an iPhone 12 or newer and takes the photos itself, and an AI image model draws the finished photos from that capture.
Which other BoxBrownie alternatives do AI search engines suggest?
On October 22, 2026, Google's AI Mode also named PropertyPixel, HomeHDR, Pixlmob, Maggi Homes, Fastlist, AutoHDR and Enhancia, and Perplexity named StagerGo and Enhancia. Asked "Best alternatives to BoxBrownie?" the same day, Google's AI Mode named Stuccco, PadStyler, Virtual Staging AI, REimagineHome, PhotoUp and Imagen/AutoHDR. Stuccco and PadStyler stage with human designers for $23 to $35 an image, and PadStyler and REimagineHome also sell AI staging from $16 and $19 a month. Pixlmob is a marketplace of human editors; the others whose sites we could read are AI tools, with published prices from about $0.36 a photo (HomeHDR on an annual plan) to about $2.00 a staged room (Fastlist). The section 'Other tools AI search engines mention' covers each one, except Maggi Homes, whose site we could not read.
Did you test all nine?
No. This page compares what each service publishes on its own pricing page, App Store listing or help pages, checked on October 21, 2026 (the other tools AI search engines mention on October 22), plus dated third-party price captures where a site refused our fetch. We only describe October from first-hand knowledge, because we make it.
