Lumo alternatives in 2026: iPhone listing photo apps compared by what you need

The right Lumo alternative depends on why you are leaving: if your iPhone cannot run iOS 26, Roomify ($49 a listing, iOS 15.1), Real Estate Camera AI (credits from $9.99, iOS 16.4) and CurbShot (from $19.99 a month, iOS 18.2) do the same job of enhancing and staging photos you take or import; if you want a person checking every photo, Ovvy ($2 a photo, within 12 hours); for HDR in the camera at $0.99 a photo, Exposio; and if you want the app to decide where to stand and return a walkthrough video, October, from $49 a place with the first place free. This page compares Lumo and six alternatives from their App Store listings and websites as of October 22, 2026; it is written by October's founder, and at volume Lumo's $29.99 month for 500 photos is the cheapest per photo here.

How we compared them

We read Lumo's US App Store listing and its own homepage and About page, and for each alternative its App Store listing and, where one exists, its website or pricing page, on October 22, 2026. We did not run the same photos through every app, so this is a comparison of what each one offers and charges, not of image quality. All prices are US App Store or US website prices in dollars.

Which Lumo: this page is about Lumo: AI Real Estate Camera from lumophotos.com, an iPhone app made by an independent developer in New York City, Aadhrik Kuila. Its About page says it is not related to other products named Lumo, such as Proton's Lumo AI assistant.

When Lumo is still the better choice

Lumo turns iPhone photos into listing photos in under 30 seconds each. You shoot in its camera or import up to 20 photos at a time; it sorts them into rooms, brightens them and balances windows, gives exteriors a new sky (Bright Day, Golden Hour or Twilight) and tidier lawns and driveways, and stages empty rooms in Modern, Traditional or Minimalist style. Staged photos and new skies export with a 'Virtually Staged' label by default. It exports MLS, listing-site and social sizes, and Pro adds your branding, a PDF listing report and a drafted MLS description. Its site says layout, materials, colours and fixtures stay as shot, and asks you to review every photo against the property because it uses AI; photos are processed by Lumo's server and OpenAI.

  • You enhance a lot of photos. Lumo Pro is $29.99 a month or $239.99 a year for up to 500 photos and 50 listings a month: about 6 cents a photo if you use the allowance. Nothing else here is close at that volume.
  • You want to use photos you already took. Lumo imports from the camera roll, as do Roomify, Real Estate Camera AI and CurbShot. Ovvy, Exposio and October only work from their own camera.
  • You want twilight and sky on exteriors in the same app. Lumo includes them; of the alternatives, Exposio and Ovvy offer twilight, and Real Estate Camera AI keeps skies as shot.
  • You want the disclosure label on by default. Staging and new skies leave Lumo labelled 'Virtually Staged' unless you turn it off, and the app warns before you do.
  • Your iPhone already runs iOS 26. That is Lumo's one hard requirement, and the main reason people look elsewhere.

Lumo is young: version 1.0 came out on April 3, 2026, the current version is 1.5.2 from October 14, and it has 4.3 stars from 6 App Store ratings. Its site says it does not do drone, video or 3D tours. If any of that matters, or your phone cannot take iOS 26, read on.

Lumo, Roomify, Real Estate Camera AI and CurbShot are the same shape: shoot or import, AI edits in seconds or minutes, you review. Ovvy and Exposio are cameras first and do not take imported photos. October is the only one that chooses where you stand; like Lumo it uses AI, but its image model draws each finished photo anew from your capture rather than editing it, and its walkthrough is AI-generated motion between each room's finished photos.

Which alternative, by what you need

Your situationLook atWhy
My iPhone can't run iOS 26Roomify, Real Estate Camera AI, CurbShotAll three import photos and enhance them on iOS 15.1, 16.4 and 18.2 respectively. Roomify charges per listing ($49), Real Estate Camera AI per edit (from 1 credit), CurbShot per credit or $19.99 a month.
I want staging and decluttering, paid per editReal Estate Camera AI, CurbShotReal Estate Camera AI stages, declutters or removes furniture for 2 credits a photo (about $0.67–$1.00 depending on the pack or plan). CurbShot gives two staging options side by side and can empty a room while keeping curtains, windows and built-ins. Both keep the originals. October stages a room for $29. See our virtual staging cost guide.
I want a person to check every photoOvvyOvvy says it manually reviews all photos and guarantees 12 hours or less, at $2 a photo or $29 a month for 30. Every other app here is automatic.
I want better source photos, not just better editsExposio, Ovvy, OctoberLumo edits whatever the phone caught. Exposio blends up to 27 shots per tap into an HDR photo in the camera; Ovvy's camera handles exposure and levelling; October picks the spot, keeps the phone level and stitches each spot into one wide view, which its AI image model then redraws as the finished photo. See Exposio alternatives.
I need videoOctober, Exposio, Real Estate Camera AILumo's site says it does not do video. October makes a walkthrough of the rooms in HD or 4K: AI-generated motion (Kling) between each room's finished photos, not filmed footage. Exposio's Motion and Real Estate Camera AI's listing videos are built from your still photos too. See turn listing photos into a video.
I don't know where to standOctoberLumo, CurbShot and Ovvy help with level and exposure; none chooses the spot. October shows the photographer's spot with an arrow and the distance, takes you to three spots per room and takes the photo itself. See how to take real estate photos with an iPhone.

What a month of listings costs: per photo, per listing, per place

Take an agent with four listings a month, six rooms and 18 photos each (three per room, which is what October captures): 72 photos. Here is that month on each app at list price, photos only, with no staging.

Option72 photos a monthWhat decides it
Lumo$29.99 (Pro covers 500 photos and 50 listings)Flat month; the free plan covers 5 photos
Real Estate Camera AIAbout $30: Pro $19.99 for 50 credits plus a 20-credit pack at $9.99 (or Business $49.99 for 150)1 credit per Enhance
CurbShotAbout $60: Pro $19.99 (about 33 enhanced photos) plus four Listing Packs at $9.99 (about 10 each, by its own count)3 photo credits per enhance
Exposio72 × $0.99 = $71.28 in the US App Store, less in packs1 credit per photo kept
Ovvy72 × $2 = $144 pay as you goPer photo; Pro $29 covers 30 a month
Roomify4 × $49 = $196, or $199 for a 5-listing packPer listing, up to 150 photos each
October4 × $49 = $196 for photos; with walkthroughs, $287 on Start ($149 for 2 places + 2 extra at $69)Per place of up to 6 rooms; the app takes the photos; first place free

Read it both ways. If you shoot your own listings well and want them brighter, Lumo's flat month is the cheapest path on this page, and Real Estate Camera AI matches it at this volume. October costs more per listing because it does a different job: it decides each spot, has an AI image model draw a finished photo per spot from your capture (brighter, straightened, loose items left out, the room kept as captured) and adds an AI walkthrough of the rooms. More on what photographers would charge in our real estate photography cost guide, and October's plans on pricing.

Three things to check before you switch

  • Your iOS version and phone. Lumo needs iOS 26, CurbShot 18.2, Ovvy 17.6, Real Estate Camera AI 16.4, Exposio 16 and Roomify 15.1; October needs an iPhone 12 or newer. Exposio, Real Estate Camera AI and CurbShot also run on Android.
  • Whether anyone looks at the result. Only Ovvy says a person does. Lumo, Roomify, Real Estate Camera AI, CurbShot, Exposio and October are automated; Lumo, like the others, asks you to check each photo against the property before you list it.
  • Disclosure. Staging, decluttering, furniture removal and sky replacement are alterations under California's AB 723 and most MLS rules, whoever makes them. Lumo and Real Estate Camera AI label staged photos, and CurbShot writes a disclosure line per photo. Every October photo is AI-generated from your capture, so label it AI-altered or digitally altered where your MLS, portal or state requires; only October's empty and staged rooms carry a label on the image. October's download includes the unaltered original of every photo, so you can link or provide it where your MLS or state requires. See AI photo editing and MLS rules and California AB 723.

Questions

What is the best alternative to Lumo?

If your iPhone cannot run iOS 26, Roomify ($49 a listing), Real Estate Camera AI (credits) or CurbShot (from $19.99 a month) do the same job of enhancing and staging photos you take or import. For a person checking every photo, Ovvy. For HDR in the camera, Exposio. If you want the app to choose where you stand and return a walkthrough video, October, from $49 a place with the first place free.

How much does Lumo cost?

Free for 5 photo enhancements and 1 listing, with a small 'Enhanced by Lumo' badge on exports. Lumo Pro is $29.99 a month or $239.99 a year through the App Store, for up to 500 photos and 50 listings a month, with no badge and your branding on exports.

Which iPhone do I need for Lumo?

Any iPhone running iOS 26 or later, according to Lumo's App Store listing and website. If yours cannot update, Roomify needs iOS 15.1, Real Estate Camera AI iOS 16.4 and CurbShot iOS 18.2; October needs an iPhone 12 or newer.

Does Lumo make videos or 3D tours?

No. Lumo's own site says it does not do drone, video or 3D tours. October makes an AI-generated walkthrough video of the rooms, moving between the finished photos from its guided walk; Exposio and Real Estate Camera AI make videos from your still photos.

Is Lumo the same as Proton's Lumo?

No. Lumo: AI Real Estate Camera (lumophotos.com) is an iPhone app for listing photos made by an independent developer in New York City; its About page says it is not related to Proton's Lumo AI assistant or other products named Lumo.

Can October edit photos I took for Lumo?

No. October only works from captures made in its own app, where the app walks you to each spot and takes the photos itself. If you want to keep your own photos, Roomify, Real Estate Camera AI and CurbShot import them.

Did you test all seven?

No. This page compares what each app publishes on its App Store listing and website, checked on October 22, 2026. We only describe October from first-hand knowledge, because we make it.
